Emily Smith-Wilson holds a B.S. degree in Exercise Physiology - Sports Training & Conditioning and a minor in Coaching from the University of Minnesota.  She became certified as a Peak Pilates System Instructor in 2004, and Peak Pilates Teacher Trainer in 2014.  Furthering her commitment to the Pilates Method of body conditioning, in 2016 Emily completed the Pilates Professional Advanced Teacher Training Program, The Red Thread Method with world renowned teacher, Kathryn Ross-Nash. She has since been hand-picked to teach the Pilates Professional Advanced Teacher Training Program and actively studies with her mentor, Kathryn Ross-Nash.

Emily began practicing the Pilates Method of body conditioning in 2002 during her off-season as a competitive athlete.  Intrigued by the complexity of the movements and the strength she developed within her own body, she determined that the Pilates Method would forever be the foundation on which she would build her life.  Emily used Pilates as her modality for strength training and injury prevention during her 20+ year semi-professional Ultimate Frisbee career. As a highly decorated athlete, she represented the United States at seven Ultimate Frisbee World Championships, with three National Team appearances. To cap off her storied career, in 2022 Emily won yet another World Championship gold medal and was inducted into the Ultimate Frisbee Hall of Fame. Outside of the studio, she now spends her time hiking, biking, running, camping and snowboarding with her daughter, partner, and puppy in the beautiful mountains she grew up in, surrounding Bozeman, Montana.

Emily is passionate about adhering to the Classical Pilates Method as taught by its creator, Joseph H. Pilates. Whether you are a professional athlete or haven’t exercised for years, Emily’s compassionate intensity will guide and challenge you along your body’s own innate path to strength and freedom of movement.  She knows that everybody’s body has a story of happiness, pain, injury and health, and her goal is to help you return to and then maintain a healthy mind, body, and soul.  Her work has been described as magic as she leads your body back to health because she knows that anything is possible with conscious and correct movement.
